On the occasion of the 99th anniversary of the death of V.I. Lenin, the President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel wrote on his Twitter:
“Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, eternal leader of those who fight for socialism and social justice died on this day in 1924, at the age of only 53. His social and political work has never ceased to inspire millions of people around the world. Cuba pays tribute to him.”
The Cuban press agency Prensa Latina further commented:
“Lenin was the primary driver of the October Revolution and the first leader of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the first workers’ and peasants’ state.
“He was the author of a theoretical and practical set of principles based on Marxism, known as Leninism and later called Marxism-Leninism.
“As an expert in the methodology of science, he contributed to the advancement of dialectical logic, developed the theory of knowledge and the doctrine of thought.”
