Recently, the news agencies reported that a top Chinese diplomat, Wang Yi, visited a regional forum with participants from Japan and south Korea and advocated solidarity among Asian nations. In this call, he stated that the West and its so-called rules-based international order do not recognize any difference between Asian nations, therefore they should unite as one. Furthermore, he pointed out that no matter how much of a lackey or lapdog in their servitude one becomes, the Asian will never become European or American.
This attitude, I think, is quite correct. Speaking in front of two American puppet representatives, the Chinese drew a clear line in the sand in stating firm and unequivocal opposition to the U.S. imperialists and their lackeys, encouraging the latter to leave their path of betrayal. The new war on China, heating up as does the U.S.-NATO proxy war in Ukraine, is forcing the Chinese state to determine a clearer line, a clearer stand — proving who is a friend and who is an enemy. In the past, this was often not expressed sufficiently. But Marxist-Leninists know that the peoples must certainly unite to defeat imperialism.
In response to these just calls, the news agencies also report a flurry of Western journalists expressing their dismay at these just comments by the Chinese. CNN, for example, accused them of “racialized comments.” That is, because CNN and its masters are known for propping up a society notoriously “free” of racism, the USA. It can certainly be said that racism is free in the society they hold dear, but it is the opposite of free from racism. Others drew parallels with Japanese fascism’s “Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.” However, in this scenario, if anyone is building up an Asian coalition to the detriment of the peoples, it is NATO and its “Taipei-Seoul-Tokyo Axis” which aims to split two nations and keep the peoples of all three languishing in an unliveable and inhuman society where suicides by the working people are growing every day.
These anti-Chinese insinuations are nothing but an old page of yellow peril varnished with a new coat of anti-communist paint. If Asians want to unite, it is perceived as racism. But should Europeans and Americans unite — and they have already through NATO, European Union, NORAD, etc. — then that is good and just for the defence of peace, democracy and “human rights.” Those individuals who actually are guilty of racism avail themselves by applying this double standard.
One thing cannot be stressed enough — the words of the Chinese diplomat are important, and the media frenzy opposed to them only reveals that truth further. But more important is concrete action — and the imperialist aggression is proving to a greater and greater extent each day that action is necessary not only for the Chinese proletarians and people, but also for China’s sovereignty and independence taken as a total.
