The “Epstein Scandal”

– Qemal Cicollari, Chairman of the Communist Party of Albania –

For several weeks now, there has been a major uproar in the global media — as well as in Albania — regarding the “Epstein Scandal.”

What is this scandal?

Various international media outlets report that Jeffrey Epstein, a powerful American billionaire capitalist, had established a “sex empire” involving the political and financial “elite” of the American and global imperialist class, among others.

This “sex empire,” among other things, was characterised by “paedophilia,” meaning the sexual exploitation of children by the political and economic “elite” of the capitalist and imperialist world.

According to media reports, numerous documents related to the “Epstein Scandal” expose the inhuman monsters of the global financial oligarchy, exploiting children sexually like animals.

Within the documents, photographs, videos, phone records etc. from this “sex empire” — part of this global mega-scandal of prostitution and paedophilia — the following internationally known names appear:

— Donald Trump, President of the United States of America (USA)

— Bill Clinton, former President of the USA

— Bill Gates, major American billionaire, owner of the monopoly company “Microsoft”

— Elon Musk, major American billionaire, owner of the monopoly company “Tesla”

— Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

— The former Duke of York, Prince Andrew

— Mohammed bin Salman, Prince of Saudi Arabia

— The Princess of Thailand, one of the wealthiest individuals in the world

— Michael Jackson, etc.

As reported by the media, the American bourgeois justice system possesses around 3 million files, 2,000 videos and 180,000 photographs regarding the “Epstein Case.”

In other words, the “Epstein Case” has only just been scratched at the surface.

The “Epstein Case” is merely the tip of the iceberg of the rotten bourgeois morality.

……………………………………………………………………………….

The poisonous tentacles of this capitalist sex enterprise, according to some Albanian media outlets, have also reached into Albania.

On yesterday’s episode of the “Opinion” programme on TV Klan, the panellists stated that the names of Albanian bourgeois politicians and Albanian capitalists appear in the documents related to the “Epstein case.”

An email from the Epstein Scandal — one of the “Opinion” panellists said — mentions that “Tirana has extraordinary women,” among other things.

……………………………………………………………………………….

So, this is more or less the picture of the “Epstein Case” that is shaking and shocking the world.

In this analysis of the “Epstein Case,” I will try to briefly and generally outline the reactionary essence of bourgeois morality.

I want to emphasise from the outset that this case can only be properly and accurately understood when examined through the lens of Marxist-Leninist science.

……………………………………………………………………………….

The “Epstein Scandal” did not fall from the sky, nor is it an accidental occurrence in today’s capitalist society.

Such scandals have accompanied the capitalist and imperialist system throughout its existence.

As evidence of this, we remind readers of the sexual scandal from a few years ago involving Berlusconi — the former Prime Minister of Italy and a billionaire capitalist.

The “Epstein Scandal” is a social phenomenon — a grotesque product of the old, oppressive and exploitative capitalist-imperialist system in full decay.

Within the capitalist-imperialist system, the phenomenon of prostitution exists both in official legal and illegal forms.

The “Epstein Scandal” is a manifestation of bourgeois prostitution, in its ugliest and most inhumane form.

The history of capitalism clearly and undeniably shows us — through numerous facts — the existence and flourishing of the prostitution phenomenon, this objective, vile and unavoidable element of bourgeois morality, in the oppressive and exploitative capitalist-imperialist system.

……………………………………………………………………………….

From an economic perspective, the “Epstein Case” is, in essence, no different from any other capitalist enterprise.

The fundamental economic law of capitalism, discovered by the great Marx, is the production of surplus value — or profit — through the ruthless exploitation of the working class (the proletariat) and the labouring masses.

Therefore, from an economic standpoint, the “Epstein Scandal” is simply a capitalist enterprise in prostitution, aimed at securing maximum profits by mercilessly exploiting children, young girls and women from poor and oppressed classes and strata.

……………………………………………………………………………….

At the root of this capitalist prostitution enterprise lies capitalist private property over the means of production, upon which are built the bourgeois economic relations of oppression and exploitation of man by man — and upon which rests the decaying bourgeois morality.

From a moral perspective, the “Epstein Scandal” is an ugly manifestation of reactionary bourgeois morality in deep degeneration and total decay.

Bourgeois morality is the dominant moral code in today’s capitalist society.

This bourgeois morality is founded on capitalist private property.

Private property leaves no genuine human connections between people — only narrow self-interest and the pursuit of gain at any cost, by any means.

The history of the capitalist system shows us very clearly that capitalist private property transforms everything into a commodity — dignity, honour, love, family, talent and every human virtue.

The “Epstein Scandal” fully confirms this.

……………………………………………………………………………….

Money is the only means in bourgeois society through which anything decent or human about a person can be bought and sold.

By revealing the inhuman nature of the capitalist world — where money reigns without limit — the great Marx said:

“The bourgeois who has money can say to himself: ‘I am ugly, but I can buy the most beautiful woman — therefore I am no longer ugly, since the effect of ugliness, its repulsiveness, is nullified. I may be lame, but money gives me 24 legs, and I am no longer lame. I am bad, dishonest, unscrupulous, stupid — but money is respected, and therefore so is its owner. Money is the greatest good, so the person who owns it is good as well. Moreover, money frees me from the effort of being honest — I am assumed to be honest.’” (Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, “From the Early Works,” p. 618, Russian edition)

The “Epstein Scandal” fully proves this to be true.

……………………………………………………………………………….

The frenzied thirst for maximum profits, for the increase of capital and the accumulation of wealth, is the highest aim of the capitalist.

This insatiable hunger for profit and wealth accumulation is the sole motive that drives the bourgeois.

Such a drive gives rise to the basest passions in the bourgeoisie — such as selfishness, individualism and the pursuit of personal happiness built on the misfortune of others, as seen in the case of the “Epstein Scandal.”

Bourgeois individualism and selfishness are expressed in principles such as “man is a wolf to man,” and similar beliefs.

The bourgeois’ unrelenting greed for profit pushes him towards boundless and inhuman immorality, leading to the perpetration of the vilest crimes — as in the case of the “Epstein Scandal.”

Thus, private property and the bourgeoisie’s insatiable thirst for maximum profits are the source of the most repugnant crimes in capitalism — manifesting in various forms such as murder, corruption, sexual scandals and more.

To illustrate this, let us briefly bring to readers’ attention some events that have occurred — and continue to occur — in capitalist Albania, systematically reported by the media: horrific property-related murders, even within families, where fathers have killed sons, sons have killed fathers, brothers have murdered brothers, and so on; or the rampant and accelerating corruption of bourgeois officials — both right-wing and so-called “left-wing,” both socialists and democrats.

Corruption in capitalist Albania has affected both democratic and socialist bourgeois governments, reaching even prime ministers like Sali Berisha, who has been declared persona non grata, as well as deputy prime ministers, ministers, MPs, mayors, etc.

To further illustrate, here are some undeniable facts from capitalist Albania over the past 35 years, according to reports from official institutions and the media:

— Around 180,000 crimes have been committed over property disputes in capitalist Albania during these 36 years.

— According to the media and international research organisations, capitalist Albania is ranked among the countries with the highest levels of corruption in Europe.

— Brothels and sexual scandals have been uncovered from time to time in capitalist Albania.

……………………………………………………………………………….

– 3 –

In the phases of decline of exploitative socio-economic systems, the moral degeneration of the reactionary exploiting classes reaches its peak.

The history of exploitative socio-economic systems — slave-owning, feudal and capitalist — makes this point very clear.

……………………………………………………………………………….

In our time, the capitalist system finds itself — in its highest and final stage — in imperialism.

The great Lenin uncovered the fundamental features of imperialism. Among other things, he stated that capitalism, in its final stage — imperialism — is a parasitic and decaying form of capitalism.

The history of capitalism and imperialism has fully confirmed this.

The imperialist bourgeoisie, enriched to the extreme by the maximum profits it gains through the ruthless exploitation of the working class (the proletariat) and the labouring masses within its own country — and through the plundering of other peoples — lives a parasitic and debauched life.

As history shows, the parasitic imperialist bourgeoisie has given itself over to depraved and inhuman pleasures — such as in the case of the “Epstein Scandal” in the USA and others.

In the present day, the ruling imperialist bourgeoisie, through its parasitic lifestyle and moral corruption, has surpassed even the slaveowners and emperors of ancient Rome, and the feudal noble aristocrats of the Middle Ages — a reality clearly shown in the case of the “Epstein Scandal.”

……………………………………………………………………………….

To hide the inhuman nature of its rampant individualism and selfishness, the bourgeois class has long employed, and continues to employ, widespread hypocrisy.

Its insatiable greed for profit is presented as concern for “the common good and happiness of society,” and so forth.

In words, the bourgeoisie proclaims the “sanctity” of human honour and family, while in practice it engages in open and hidden prostitution, among other things.

……………………………………………………………………………….

Thus, this is the reactionary essence of bourgeois morality.

– 4 –

The moral degradation of bourgeois society is an objective and inevitable social phenomenon, which testifies to the necessity of overthrowing the old and decaying capitalist and imperialist system of oppression and exploitation.

Negative phenomena and sexual scandals, such as the “Epstein Scandal,” which stem from reactionary bourgeois morality, are increasingly exposing the capitalist system in the eyes of the people.

Marxist-Leninist science teaches us that reactionary bourgeois morality will disappear only when the old, rotten, capitalist-imperialist system of oppression and exploitation is overthrown through proletarian revolution.

– 5 –

Marxist-Leninist science teaches us that after the victory of the socialist revolution and the establishment of the dictatorship of the proletariat, in the new socialist and communist system, the objective and subjective conditions will be created for communist morality to become the dominant moral code under socialism — and, later in communism, the sole morality of society.

The essence of communist morality is the struggle to destroy the exploitative society and to build a new communist society — one without oppression or the exploitation of man by man.

The highest aim of communist morality is the construction of communist society.

The building of socialism in Albania under the leadership of the former Party of Labour of Albania and Enver Hoxha, for nearly half a century, never witnessed the phenomenon of prostitution or the moral degradation of society.

The fundamental principles, key norms and essential requirements of communist morality during the socialist period and under Enver Hoxha were: socialist collectivism, the socialist attitude towards labour, the socialist attitude towards socialist property, socialist patriotism, proletarian internationalism and socialist humanism. These created the objective and subjective conditions for the formation and shaping of the new man with communist morality. This new man fought against the pressure of bourgeois morality — remnants of the former feudal-bourgeois class, the degenerate elements within socialism, and the strong influence of bourgeois morality from capitalist countries, which sought to morally degrade and corrupt individuals within socialist society in Albania.

Communist morality in socialist Albania, under the leadership of the former Party of Labour of Albania and Enver Hoxha, was the dominant morality in society.

– 6 –

In our time, the capitalist-imperialist system has sunk into a deep and general crisis — both in its base and in its superstructure, which includes bourgeois morality as a part of that superstructure.

Today, under the rule of imperialism and the full decay of capitalism — both its base and superstructure — it has become essential to overthrow the old, decaying capitalist and imperialist system of oppression and exploitation through proletarian revolution, and to achieve victory for a new socialist and communist system without the oppression and exploitation of man by man.

– 7 –

The Communist Party of Albania has denounced — and will continue to denounce — every phenomenon of reactionary and decaying bourgeois morality, and will promote the new communist morality.

The Communist Party of Albania, guided by Marxist-Leninist science, will lead the working class (the proletariat) and the labouring masses, the people, in their class struggle to overthrow the old and decaying capitalist system of oppression and exploitation, and to achieve victory for a new socialist and communist system without the oppression and exploitation of man by man — in Albania.
