Description
Imperialism and the Revolution is Comrade Enver Hoxha’s most important theoretical work and one of the most important books in modern Communism. And as such, it is of paramount importance to reprint and distribute it for the Marxist-Leninists of today. In it, he exposes the reactionary essence of imperialism in our time, while the epoch of imperialism and the proletarian revolution, as defined by Lenin, is ongoing. American imperialism and Soviet social-imperialism, the two main bourgeois-revisionist superpowers in Comrade Enver’s time, Chinese, Yugoslav, and Eurocommunist revisionism are captured in a tremendous perspective, that of the leader of the only country in the world blockaded by all the superpowers, three if one is to include China. But perhaps the most important and famous aspect of this theoretical masterpiece is the exposure of the opportunist and revisionist role of the China of Comrade Enver’s time, spanning from the time of the World Anti-Fascist War, New Democracy, the Great Leap Forward, the so-called “Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution”, the rapprochement with and defence of U.S. imperialism, and finally the fascist takeover of power by the Hua-Deng clique. In this regard, his exposure of the revisionist Mao Zedong and his successors is laid clearly and openly; and to lay things more clearly, some footnotes have been added leading to Comrade Enver Hoxha’s works further explaining his positions and the positions which the Party of Labour of Albania had always held towards the Communist Party of China, as well as some footnotes of further evidence on certain topics.
In describing Comrade Enver Hoxha’s main works, Imperialism and the Revolution among them, Ramiz Alia noted in his Our Enver: “These works constitute a great theoretical heritage, both for the Albanian people and communists in their struggle for the cause of socialist construction and for the proletarians everywhere in the world to carry forward the cause of revolution and communism.”
