Description
Who was Stalin? What did he represent to the many millions of communists and peoples fighting for liberation? It is easy to get caught up in the mystification that goes on, downright personal defamation against his character. In his time it was the imperialists, fascists, Trotskyites and revisionists of every hue who brought out this “spectre of Stalin” to slander the name of communism worldwide — they were his greatest enemies, only his name enough to send shivers down their spine. But this could not stop the truth. Under his leadership, the Red Army liberated Europe. Under his leadership, the great Bolshevik Party inspired literally hundreds of millions to fight for national liberation and a new, socialist society. In addition to this, there is a personal character of Stalin that is not told — his behaviour towards sincere comrades and friends of the Soviet people. As we get further away from Stalin, this is more and more obfuscated in popular culture. He was kind, modest, genuine and helpful — everything he did in their presence was so human! Nobody better describes this side of Stalin than Comrade Enver Hoxha. If there is a book that not only makes one know what Stalin was really like, but makes one feel as though they, too, personally know Stalin, it is With Stalin. Written on the centenary of his birth, it will live through the ages as the tale of how he was always eager to help a small socialist country, indeed leaders he had barely met, a people he know very little about, giving sincere advice and never orders, creating the most comradely atmosphere one could ever imagine.
